We are a membership-based
health practice

for women seeking primary care, hormonal care, sexual health care, and more.

Located in Winston-Salem, North Carolina.

Why we chose the membership model

What is a membership-based health practice?

You are in control of your health.

We are a direct care medicine model, and this is a membership based office. It is a modern healthcare model in which insurance is removed from the patient-provider relationship. Direct care allows for patients to have direct access to their health care provider and limited office staff so that your care is directed by your health care provider and not a “team” of people. Typically, the patient panel size is limited so that the provider has more time and energy to take care of the people on their panel. In an insurance based model, panel sizes can be as large as 1500-5000 patients. In direct care, panel sizes are typically 50 patients to a few hundred. CCWW is on the smaller side, sometimes called a “micro practice”. Patients typically have direct access to their provider between visits, and eliminates the need for you to come in to be seen for minor health concerns or questions.

Our Mission

Camel City Women’s Wellness is an integrative women’s health practice that serves women across the lifespan. We provide trauma informed care with solution focused treatment plans. We focus on educating, empowering, and delivering evidence based high quality medical care to our patients, by placing high value on continuing education, medical research and technologies, community engagement, and compassionate care of our patients.

Why a Membership Model?

At Camel City Women’s Wellness, we’ve chosen a membership model because it fosters a more supportive, flexible, and holistic approach to care. Unlike a traditional fee-for-service model, which often limits the frequency and type of visits, our membership structure encourages regular check-ins, whether they’re face-to-face, virtual, or over the phone. This allows us to stay closely connected, ensuring that you’re not only cared for when you’re unwell but that we’re also tracking your well-being during healthier times. By removing the barriers of fees for each visit, you’ll feel empowered to reach out whenever you need us, rather than waiting until things worsen.

Building a Relationship-Centered Approach

Studies show that over half of North Carolinians feel overwhelmed by coordinating their own care and avoid seeking help until they’re unwell. Our membership-based care is designed to ease this burden, helping you with care coordination and staying connected throughout your health journey. This model aligns with our philosophy that a strong patient-clinician relationship can be a powerful tool in health and healing. Dr. Andrew Weil, a pioneer in integrative medicine, noted that sometimes the most effective “treatment” is the relationship itself. Our commitment to knowing you well means we’re here to support you not only as patients but as partners in wellness.

No, we do not accept insurance for our services. Our membership model allows us to focus on providing personalized, patient-centered care without the restrictions of insurance. However, we can provide you with an itemized receipt if you wish to submit it for possible out-of-network reimbursement.

Yes, we recommend maintaining health insurance for services outside of our clinic, such as hospitalizations, emergency care, and specialist visits. The membership covers comprehensive primary and specialty care within our clinic, but insurance can provide additional support for broader health needs.

Our membership fee ensures that you receive high-quality, accessible care without the limitations of traditional insurance. This monthly fee supports a model that allows us to spend more time with each patient, provide proactive and preventive care, and offer convenient telehealth options as needed.

Yes, for anyone in North Carolina.

Your membership fee covers the majority of services provided in our clinic. However, certain specialized tests, treatments, or external labs may incur additional costs. We will always inform you in advance if there are any fees beyond your membership.

The membership covers comprehensive wellness and specialty care services, including primary care, hormonal health management, sexual health services, and preventive care. For specific services, please refer to our Services page.

Currently, our memberships are designed for individual patients. If family care options become available, we will inform our members about adding family members.

Patient Testimonials

Hear What Our Patients Have to Say

"I can attest that the membership model is worth every penny of the out-of-pocket expense. My care is between me and Camel City Women's Wellness, not an insurance broker and an algorithm. The peace of mind from being able to message the person who's actually taking care of me, instead of waiting on hold for hours or playing message tag with staff who know nothing about my situation, is invaluable. She's helped me make small changes to my lifestyle, stress coping mechanisms, sleep patterns, and so much more. Each of these adjustments has had a big impact. I feel seen, heard, and cared for in a way I never have before in a doctor's office." "Christina listens. She looks and she sees. To have her as a doctor made me feel heard, seen, and valued; that was the beginning of my getting better. I found both genuine understanding and clever resolution to my peri-menopausal issues which included widely fluctuating hormones (we tracked them daily over two months so I saw the crazy climbing and diving dance they did!) and vaginal atrophy. I was skeptical about hormone replacement but we were able to talk at length and address my many questions and concerns. I always felt in control of my health with Christina as a caring and extremely knowledgeable guide. I feel so much better than I have in years and am looking forward to menopause and beyond!" "Finding an intelligent and informed menopause provider is sadly very difficult. After lots of research and some trial and error with other doctors, I was thrilled to find Camel City Wellness! Christina is knowledgeable, thoughtful, caring, relatable and up to date on current women’s health medicine and research. In an area of medicine that is behind in most areas, finding Camel City was life changing. Winston Salem is lucky to have this resource for great health care!" "I began seeing Christina 9 months ago, and from the very first visit, I felt incredibly supported and understood. Christina has a remarkable ability to explain things thoroughly, making sure I understand all the information related to my personal health. What truly stands out is how her guidance aligns with my beliefs, which is something that means a lot to me. "When I came to Camel Women's Wellness I had a myriad of symptoms related to menopause; hot flashes, weight gain, fatigue, irritability, all of it.  I had talked with my Gyno, my GP, and an integrative MD.  No one could give me an optimistic outlook, I was just going to have to deal with it.  Christina was able to help me not just understand what was truly happening with my body, but also  give me a clear path to addressing the symptoms.  I feel light years better, genuinely more myself.  I wasn't alone in this, and I am forever grateful." "Christina exceeds all expectations one could have from a provider.  She is attentive, personable, incredibly smart and well versed in her field.  She is dedicated to women's health and wellness and works with her patients to smash the patriarchal system that is corporate medicine.  If you want to feel seen and heard from your medical provider, I cannot recommend and praise Christina highly enough.  She is the future of women's health!"
